Cammie McKenzie, Private Tutoring Services

Cammie McKenzie

Cammie graduated with a major in Education, Psychology and Dance from Mount Holyoke College in Massachusetts. After teaching bilingual education in an inner city school in Holyoke, Massachusetts, Cammie went on to receive her Masters in Education at New York University. As part of her Education program, Cammie participated in a teaching internship at The Gateway School; a private school for learning disabled children.

After completing her degree at NYU, Cammie attended Columbia University where she obtained a Masters in Business Administration. Upon graduation, Cammie joined IBM and the John Henry Martin Corporation as a bilingual education consultant. As a consultant to both of these companies, Cammie provided support in the developmental testing of Writing to Write, a computer based comprehensive writing curriculum for elementary grades and Voy a Leer Escribiendo, the Spanish counterpart.

Cammie tutors students of all ages in all subject areas including Spanish and French. She tutors in all English areas of the SAT and ACT exams. Cammie also uses foundational education tools such as the Wilson language program and the S.P.I.R.E., to help young students overcome phonemic, reading and comprehension difficulties.

Kelly O’Donoghue Todd

Kelly graduated from Florida State University where she majored in Child Development and minored in Elementary Education. After graduating, Kelly returned to Fort Myers and taught fourth grade at Canterbury School for eight years. She is now a stay-at-home mom, but continues to love working with children. She is thrilled to be part of the Learning In Motion team!

Helen Claassen

Helen received a Bachelors of Science degree from Rhodes University, in Grahamstown, South Africa majoring in Biology, Geography and minoring in Chemistry. She has had over 14 years teaching experience in South Africa, Scotland and the USA. She currently teaches middle school science, and is a Certified Teacher in Florida.

At present, Helen tutors Chemistry and Biology and is thrilled to watch student begin to master their areas of subject difficulty.

Amey Williams Gow Fort Myers Tutor

Amey Williams Gow

Amey received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Secondary Education, majoring in English, from the University of Akron in 1984. She moved to Florida when a teaching position became available and within the next thirty years, she taught all levels of English from Drop-out prevention to Advanced Placement and College Prep. Her continuing education includes a summer internship studying British Literature at Exeter College in Oxford, England; studied Seminole culture and tradition through the Florida Humanities Council and for the past 5 years, high school Writing Coach.

Amey has always enjoyed teaching and hopes to share her passion with her new students at Learning in Motion.

Kathy Bell

Kathy received her Bachelors in Specific Learning Disabilities from Florida Gulf Coast in 1999. She taught high school in Ohio for 3 years, then taught orthopedically impaired students in North Carolina for 5 years. For the past 8 years, Kathy has been a teacher with the Lee County School District. Kathy teaches students with mild disabilities within the inclusion setting. She specializes in identifying the individual learning needs of students.

 

 

Elena Sestac

Elena received her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Florida Gulf      Coast University in 2012. She has been teaching in Lee County for the past six years – three years in fourth grade and three years in fifth. She loves working with students in all subject areas while helping them find the confidence to reach their highest potential. Elena is so happy to be a part of the Learning in Motion team where she can continue to impact the lives of children outside of the regular school day.

 

 

Yasmin Y. Carley

Yasmin earned a B.A. in Elementary Education from Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas in 1989.  She attended Arkansas State University in 1992 to work on a Political Science major and a minor in Business Administration. Yasmin lived in England for 3 years, then moved back to the United States, and settled in Cape Coral, Florida. Yasmin is currently a First-Grade teacher in the School District of Lee County.  She taught Kindergarten for 15 years. She loves teaching!

 

 

Beth McDonald

Beth received her Master’s degree in Elementary Education from Saint Joseph College in West Hartford, CT after earning her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Assumption College in Worcester, MA. After arriving in FL, she taught kindergarten and first grade in the Lee County School District before becoming a Reading Coach. Beth took a position at a small private school where she taught middle school reading and then kindergarten.

 

 

Nick Botticelli

Nick graduated from the University of Miami in 2015 and received his Master’s in Education from Sacred Heart University in CT in 2018. He moved to Florida from Connecticut in 2024 but continues to teach math, remotely, through a one-on-one independent school in Connecticut. Nick has experience teaching all high school math subjects as well as preparing students for the math and science sections of the ACT and SAT.

He focuses most on building confidence in problem-solving by keeping his explanations simple but complete. Nick has worked with students from all backgrounds with many different learning styles. He focuses on growth and improvement for his students, regardless of math level. Nick joined Learning in Motion in 2025.

Amie Johnson – Lallo

Amie completed her Bachelor of Arts in 2004 at Western Michigan University, majoring in Secondary Education with a focus on Math and minoring in Communications. She remained in Michigan, teaching vocational education and inner-city math, while completing her Master of Arts in Educational Leadership.  

Her love of the permanent sunshine came calling and, in the summer of 2008, she made the permanent move to Fort Myers to teach at Fort Myers High School.    

 Amie has taught a wide variety of settings since her relocation to the Sunshine State, from middle school to high school to college-level math in both brick-and-mortar classrooms and completely virtual! 

She recently moved into corporate education, obtaining her instructional design credentials, and designing e-learning opportunities for Fortune 500 companies nationally.   

Always enjoying learning and teaching, Amie hopes to continue spreading her passion for education while joining the Learning in Motion team to tutor on a one-on-one basis.
